Position Purpose The Lead Operator ensures safe, efficient, and high-quality production by adhering to and promoting safety policies, conducting toolbox talks, and training staff in incident reporting. This role operates and troubleshoots machinery, addresses equipment issues affecting quality, and escalates concerns to the Leading Hand or maintenance team as necessary. The Lead Operator organises team workflow, manages breaks to maintain continuous operation, and supports environmental initiatives in reducing, reusing, and recycling processes. Additionally, this position provides seamless shift handovers and may temporarily fill in for the Leading Hand when needed.
This position is available for Afternoon Shift (2pm to 10:06pm), Monday to Friday.
Areas of Responsibility Observes all safe working practices, adheres to all safety policies, and actively uses the safety connections, corrections, and critical risk surveys systemTrain and support staff in use of safety correction and incident reporting systemComplete assigned corrective actions in a timely manner.Conducts safety toolbox talksRaises any machine / mobile equipment / procedural issues which may impact on quality to the Leading HandUnderstands how to operate all machinery / mobile equipment within area of leadership and assist of running as required.
