Position Overview: We are seeking a Production Operator/Forklift Operator to join our team at the Somersby plant.
This role involves a balance of production labor and forklift operation (50% of each), with a strong focus on ensuring the efficient, safe, and high-quality production of steel-reinforced concrete pipes.
Key Responsibilities: Perform daily pre-start checks on all equipment and machinery.
Prepare production equipment such as ladders, stencils, paint, trowels, and other necessary tools for daily operations.
Operate a forklift to move pipes, reinforcement cages, and other materials within the production area.
Open molds, remove finished pipes, and prepare molds for the next cycle of production.
Monitor pipe quality and promptly address any issues.
Label finished products and perform tasks such as patching, cleaning, and finishing pipes.
Ensure equipment is properly cleaned and stored at the end of each shift.
Maintain cleanliness and organization within production areas.
Assist with general maintenance and report any equipment defects.
Communicate effectively with your team and supervisors.
Be flexible with work hours, including occasional weekend or holiday shifts, when required.
Skills & Experience: Experience in concrete pipe production, steel cage fabrication, or similar manufacturing or civil industries is desirable.
Forklift operation experience and valid forklift license.
Strong focus on safety, cleanliness, and attention to detail.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards of quality and safety.
Willingness to obtain further certifications, with company-paid training available.
Reliable attendance and strong work ethic.
Qualifications: Current driver's license (required).
Forklift license (required).
Own vehicle (preferred).
EWP (Elevated Work Platform) and Confined Space qualifications are advantageous but not essential.
