About the Division The Information Management and Technology Division (IMTD) is responsible for supporting one of the largest technology networks in Victoria and leading the department's technology, digital capability, business systems and digital transformation. This network consists of Schools, Corporate and Early Childhood Education (ECE) including a school user base of more than 1500 Government schools, 50,000 teachers and 650,000 students. About the Role An exciting opportunity is available at the Department of Education for a Product Development Manager to provide strong leadership and technical governance across the department's product development teams, Salesforce, ServiceNow and Microsoft.NET (legacy).
The successful applicant will manage large, multidisciplinary teams who are responsible for the development, delivery and maintenance of an extensive suite of IT software applications and services, across these three platforms. They will provide leadership for development services, platform administration, release management and DevOps. They must be comfortable in implementing programs of change and capability uplift through a strategic lens.
The Digital Design and Innovation Branch has and continues to embark on a significant program of transformation. This includes the re-definition of development practices to align with strong principles of platform-based approaches, configuration over customization, increased automation and establishment of best practices in DevOps and release management.
The successful candidate will have responsibility for establishing high-quality processes and standards to ensure operational excellence across delivery and support. They will have proven success managing large teams, strong leadership capabilities to foster a great culture and the ability to establish strong relationships with senior executives and stakeholders.
