About the position: We are seeking a skilled Product Developer with proven experience in footwear to join our dynamic team in our South Yarra Head Office. As the Product Developer - Footwear at Scanlan Theodore, you will play a crucial role in the development and management of footwear products, overseeing the entire process from conception through to production. You will have the opportunity to work closely with our Founder and Creative Director, supporting the creation of innovative, timeless and original products that enrich our ready-to-wear collections. Key responsibilities include: Collaborate closely with creative designers to uphold high-quality standards for all footwear products Manage the design process from concept to bulk production, ensuring adherence to detailed timelines Create illustrations and technical drawings of shoe and trim concepts for presentation to the Creative Director Work closely with the design team to accurately execute their vision Coordinate with factories to maintain sample schedules and uphold timelines Facilitate fit review processes with product development and technical design teams to resolve issues promptly Conduct fittings confidently and provide clear and concise feedback to offshore suppliers on time Collaborate with Creative Directors to determine leathers, colours, and quantities for finished goods Monitor the sampling process and maintain production line lists Create and maintain production and style schedules, reporting on production status weekly Maintain daily communication with offshore suppliers to ensure timely delivery of all aspects Negotiate and secure the best prices for each style, ensuring margins are always achieved Coordinate freight, maintain finishes for production, and inspect quality of products upon arrival into the warehouse What are we seeking? Qualification in Fashion Design or a related field Proven international experience working in a product development, design related role Solid understanding of materials, construction techniques, and manufacturing processes for footwear Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines Proven flexibility, adaptability and able to respond and adjust to change in work demands Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to build strong interpersonal relationships Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and as part of a team Excellent proficiency in the Microsoft suite of programs and design software such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) To be considered for this role, please submityour CV, portfolio and academic results.
