Role Purpose The Procurement Specialist engages with key stakeholders in Applied EV Engineering and Fabrication Teams to ensure that best value procurement and supply chain capabilities are being practiced at all stages of the Product Development Cycle to acquire the most cost-effective solutions and to reduce procurement expenses.
The role ensures that all processes are carried out in adherence to Applied EV guidelines, and internal business compliance.
Key Accountabilities / Responsibilities The role is involved in:
Building collaborative working relationships with key stakeholders (including program & product managers, technical managers, engineering managers and finance) to develop procurement sourcing strategies and supply solutions that balance stakeholder requirements, productivity, commercial value, and risk.Participating in the development of the Procurement Function framework and once developed, implementation of the framework in line with overall business performance goals.Supporting all phases of Product Development lifecycle and lead procurement input into Projects and Manufacturing.Providing highly specialised knowledge of Procurement Matters (SME) and be a reference point for complex procurement matters over one or more categories and business units.Leading the development and negotiation of strategic purchasing agreements that support the overall sourcing strategy, providing agility in the supply chain.Building and maintaining records of supply-chain data to support estimating for future projects.In conjunction with Design Engineers managing a Costed BOM as the basis cost tracking.Maintaining the Costed BOM for across product release updates.Obtaining supplier cost estimates for parts in order quantities that suit the requirements of expected future prototype builds and provide to project teams.Supporting finance and sales teams with component pricing, stock management, inventory queries etc.Championing use of company software programs for efficient stock management and reporting, including monitoring of trends and availability of goods and materials.Taking a leadership role, on occasion, in the Procurement team to deputise for the Procurement Manager in internal activities as well as with external suppliers.Logistics/Shipping Managing all freight requirements for Alpha, Beta prototype and PPU builds.Supporting commercial and technical disciplines by providing supply chain and logistics advice and insight.Supporting project teams with freight and logistics needs arising throughout the product development cycle.Support Marketing Team for Logistical demands for Trade shows and other activities.Ensuring compliance with Applied EV international freight processes and all relevant law.Requirements The ideal candidate will have:
Tertiary or related qualifications in procurement, supply chain management, logistics or relevant business management.Min.
5+ years of experience in similar role across technical and strategic sourcing.Strong demonstrable experience with sourcing, supplier relationship management, planning and forecasting, and inventory management.Proven experience managing supply chain operations.Previous experience in Automotive and Engineering desirable.Experience in low to med volume, short lead time procurement.Formal training and/or experience with supply chain management software and tools frameworks such as Lean Six Sigma or Business Process Re-engineering.In-depth knowledge of preparing and reviewing contracts, invoicing, and negotiation terms.Experience and understanding international quality standards e.g., ISO9001, and ISO26262 regulations.Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, and Access).Multi-tasking and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks.Highly organized and high attention to detail.Excellent analytical, influencing, negotiating and problem-solving skills.Note: this role is 100% on site in our state of the art, newly refurbished offices, and is open to candidates who have existing unrestricted working rights for Australia.
