ABOUT THE BRANCH The Strategic Procurement Branch (SPB) is responsible for the procurement, refresh and retender of non-ICT Whole of Australian Government (WoAG) coordinated procurement arrangements. These WoAG arrangements are established for commonly used goods or services by the Commonwealth.In addition, SPB undertakes procurement processes for WoAG arrangements managed by other business areas in Finance. SPB collaborates closely with entities and industry to deliver competitive, fit for purpose and value for money procurement outcomes for the Commonwealth.The Strategic Procurement Team is responsible for retendering and refresh procurement activities for a number of WoAG arrangements, including Management Advisory Services Panel, People Panel, Master Media Agency Services and Property. Support is also provided to other projects within the SPB, as well as stakeholders and external entities. The key duties of the position include: THE OPPORTUNITY We are seeking high-performing and enthusiastic procurement officers with demonstrated commercial and procurement experience to join the team!If you are you interested in:working in a central Commonwealth public service agency;broadening your strategic procurement capabilities;engaging with a broad range of industry and entity stakeholders across a range of topics; andengaging with a wide range of APS-wide stakeholders; then this may be the opportunity for you!As a Procurement Officer/Senior Procurement Officer you will be responsible for:overseeing project tasks to deliver strategic 'whole of Australian Government' tendering and contracting arrangements;assist with managing consultants, such as probity and legal advisors;working proactively and collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders, including from other government entities and industry;co-ordinating project deliverables while managing conflicting priorities; and developing high-level briefing material for the Department's senior executive, the Finance Minister and Government.We are looking for people with strong procurement or commercial or program management skills.
