Role Purpose: Ventia is seeking a dedicated Procurement Officer to join our team in this full-time, permanent position located at the Bandiana Defence Base .
In this role, you will be responsible for processing purchasing transactions to maintain inventories of materials, equipment, supplies, and products, as directed by the Commonwealth.
Key Responsibilities: Perform procurement tasks using Commonwealth mandated information systems and technology.
Ensure compliance with Commonwealth procurement legislation, departmental policies, and processes.
Maintain and store accurate financial records in accordance with Commonwealth systems and policies.
Respond to customer and supplier inquiries regarding order status, changes, or cancellations.
Contact suppliers to prioritize, schedule, or expedite deliveries and resolve issues such as shortages or late deliveries.
Contribute to collaborative innovation through continuous improvement initiatives and participation in business improvement teams.
Support Managers, Supervisors, and team members in the application of the Defence Maintenance Contract.
Take on additional responsibilities as directed by Supervisors, including roles such as first aid attendant, safety committee member, or building emergency representative.
About You: Must be eligible to hold a Defence Security Clearance up to the level of Base Line.
As a result of this requirement the incumbent must be an Australian Citizen.
Competent in Microsoft Office suite, particularly Word, Excel and Outlook.
Prior experience in office administration.
Knowledge of purchasing systems, account management and reports.
