The Procurement Officer is responsible for maintaining a comprehensive knowledge database of supplier's markets, capabilities and technology and supporting the implementation of strategic commercial agreements that optimise value for money.Job detailsPosition status: Fixed Term TemporaryPosition type: Full-timeOccupational group: ProcurementClassification: AO5Workplace Location: Bowen HillsJob ad reference: QLD/CSD/600782Closing date: 11-Nov-2024Yearly salary: $105568 - $114861Job duration: Fixed term temporary full time until April 2026The Procurement Officer is responsible for the management of low to medium value and low to medium complexity procurement activities in order to deliver value for money through the implementation of best practice Advisory & Continuous Improvement. This role is responsible for providing advice to stakeholders including customers and suppliers. You will also undertake market analysis, drive continuous improvement, implement standard procurement processes, deliver general sourcing activities, and support contract negotiation.Role Fit:Demonstrated experience in procurement identifying opportunities to improve the value delivered from every dollar spent and in delivering the initiatives required to secure that value.Supplier engagement experience including attending supplier meetings, providing constructive feedback to suppliers based on evidence and resolving minor contract issues.Demonstrated knowledge and experience in contemporary procurement and category management practices and issues, relevant regulations and the ability to deliver best-value quality customer services.Initiates and participates in activities designed to develop and foster professional relationships. Displays a willingness to learn from others.Organises own work activities and determines priorities considering impact on others.Demonstrates an active interest in on-going professional and personal development.Contributes to a positive relationship with customers. Is responsive to changes in customers' needs and expectations.Capable of considering alternative actions to resolve challenges.
