Job Description Acciona are seeking an experienced Procurement Manager to join our expanding Procurement team. This role will be instrumental in the delivery of a major Waste Water Treatment Plant project. Based in our Parramatta office with site responsibilities at Prospect, NSW, this position is ideal for candidates with robust construction experience, particularly within the water infrastructure domain.
Collaborate with Procurement and Project Managers/Coordinators to develop and implement the project's Procurement Plan and Execution Strategy, focusing on the strategic procurement of critical packages and long lead items essential for water infrastructure.Establish and maintain strong partnerships with suppliers and subcontractors, employing a Value for Money approach tailored to the specific needs of water treatment plant construction.Lead post-award meetings and negotiate terms with subcontractors and suppliers, ensuring all contractual obligations align with project schedules and milestones.Maintain an integrated Procurement Register and Contracts Register, ensuring all procurement activities support the timely delivery of construction milestones.Coordinate closely with construction delivery and planning teams to ensure procurement activities are synchronised with project schedules.Develop a commercially robust vendor base capable of meeting the stringent technical and commercial requirements of the water sector.Provide support to cost control teams and ensure all procurement activities are effectively tracked through updated reporting dashboards.Required Skills and Competencies A relevant tertiary qualification is highly desirable.Proven experience in Project Procurement Management within the construction sector, ideally on large-scale water infrastructure projects.Demonstrated ability to manage complex procurement packages from conception to implementation, particularly within the water treatment or utility sectors.Strong strategic thinking abilities, with a focus on aligning procurement activities with overall project and business objectives.Exceptional commercial acumen, negotiation skills, and the ability to build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.Candidates with extensive construction delivery experience, rather than client-side roles, will be highly regarded.This role offers a dynamic environment within Western Sydney, making it particularly appealing to candidates seeking proximity to both office and site locations.
