About the role
Liontown Resources is seeking a Processing Mechanical Engineer to lead continuous improvement initiatives, ensuring optimal plant performance in identifying, scoping (including design) and executing modification work within the Process Plant to improve performance, reliability and reduce spillage at the Kathleen Valley site.
Reporting to the Mechanical/Maintenance Superintendent, you'll leverage your mechanical engineering expertise to identify and manage asset reliability risks that could impact plant operations.
Your role involves optimising maintenance programs, analysing defects and failures by applying appropriate analysis techniques, and overseeing reliability & process related projects.
Asset Reliability Enhancement: Develop, implement, and continually refine asset maintenance plans to optimise the reliability and performance of key processing equipment.
Utilise preventative maintenance strategies and predictive maintenance techniques to ensure operational efficiency.
Risk Mitigation and Management: Contribute to the Risk Management Plan, identifying potential risks that could impact the reliability and effectiveness of the process plant.
Proactively develop strategies to mitigate these risks.
Engineering Solutions: Lead efforts in addressing repetitive failures and operational challenges by employing root cause analysis, reliability modelling, and prediction methodologies.
Develop and implement effective solutions to ensure uninterrupted operations.
Decision-Making through Value Analysis: Apply value analysis principles to evaluate repair, replacement, redesign, and procurement decisions.
Ensure cost-effectiveness and operational efficiency in all engineering decisions.
Project Oversight: Provide comprehensive oversight and management of reliability-focused projects within the Processing Plant.
Ensure successful execution, adherence to timelines, and delivery of reliable and sustainable maintenance practices.
About you
Hold a Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering (experience in materials handling is advantageous).
Proven experience in a process plant environment is essential.
Proven commissioning and ramp up experience is desirable.
Strong commitment to safety, compliance and continuous improvement.
