Our team is made up of a group of highly skilled and motivated Planners with an enthusiastic approach to life and work. We currently service a pipeline of projects within the commercial, health and renewable energy sectors.This role will require a planning expert, with a penchant for business development as well as technical excellence in at least one of the above sectors. We are looking for a market-facing leader to help foster new relationships, nurture existing ones, and develop staff to ensure our potential is reached.Based out of the SLR Melbourne office, this is an exciting opportunity for a leader in their field to become a part of our leadership team and help influence the direction of our growing team.Key ResponsibilitiesThis role offers an opportunity to become a pivotal part of the planning team, both leading and growing a team within the VIC market. The planning team is dynamic and fast-paced, and we are looking for a leader to continue to enable us to deliver quality, commercial planning outcomes for our existing clients and beyond.Responsibilities include:Support the Planning Manager in growing the Planning Teams market presence across professional networks in Victoria.Proactively identify and foster new opportunities and relationships within our key sectors (Commercial, Health, or Renewable).Deliver planning analysis and research via a commercially astute lens to confidently deliver exceptional results.Represent clients at the Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal.Keep abreast of legislative and policy changes within the planning realm.Manage several projects at any one time without direct supervision.Mentor and lead junior staff to assist the overall growth of the team.Liaise with clients, councils, consultants & other government agencies.Experience working across multi-disciplinary projects within a consulting environment.Experience RequiredNot only will you bring a great attitude and enthusiastic approach to your work, ideally you will also have:A degree in town planning or equivalent.10+ years of working experience within a consulting business with direct experience in town planning, property, or development.Demonstrated ability to attract, retain, and grow client relationships.A thorough understanding of project budgets and deliverables while maintaining excellent client service.Strong verbal and written communication skills.Ability to take the initiative and be proactive in your workplace and implement new ideas.BenefitsOur culture is unique where we work together to collaborate on projects to get the best possible outcome for our clients.
