Job Description: Hitachi Rail is looking for an enthusiastic self-motivated Principal Telecoms Engineer who thrives in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate is comfortable performing a wide range of tasks from administrative to strategic. The position is based in Brisbane, Australia.

Based in Brisbane, you will be part of a dynamic, innovative, and collaborative team renowned for its world-class thinking and solutions.
Key responsibilities: Responsible for the design and delivery of Rail communications systems for an iconic rail project in Brisbane. Develop scope of works, order materials, engage with various internal and external stakeholders to deliver work packages on time and on budget. Provide technical expertise, lead and manage a team of experienced engineers. Unwavering commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement. Skills & Experience: To be successful in this role, you will be a proven leader with extensive skills, knowledge and experience drawn from the successful delivery of large-scale comms projects in the Australian Rail sector.
An Engineering Degree in Electronics and/or Telecommunications. Minimum 10 years of demonstrated experience as a Principal Telecoms Engineer. Be a Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng). Experience in Rail comms systems and thorough understanding of future technologies. Experience in working with customers to understand project requirements and generating specifications. Collaborative communication style with the ability to work effectively as a member of a team. Experience in design and construct methodology, systems engineering concepts, configuration management, implementation, site testing, and commissioning activities. Proven experience in telecommunications CORE systems, Radio Access Network, Network Management Systems, Backbone Networks and Telecoms Infrastructure are essential. Excellent report writing and oral communication skills. A self-starter who is committed, enthusiastic, professional and assertive.
