About this opportunity This position works within a small collaborative team and takes responsibility for coordinating the successful delivery of community development programs, grants, sport and recreation, youth, event programs, health and wellbeing plans and disaster management programs and activities across the region.
Additionally, you'll also … Responsible for the development and delivery of strategic business planning, financial management and team development for Community Development programs, projects and activities. Develop and foster a strategic approach to provide a broad range of community development projects, programs and activities in response to current and emerging priorities and identified community needs. Develop effective internal and external partnerships to deliver strategic community development priorities. Undertake activities that assist community organisations to collaborate and participate in consultation processes that contribute to planning, social policy, business continuity, delivery and evaluation of community strengthening programs in the community. Responsible for building effective networks and developing partnerships to facilitate the achievement of good outcomes for the local community, and actively support capacity building and long term viability amongst community organisations. Identify and apply for project managed funded projects that meets the corporate objectives and long term financial plan in conjunction with relevant portfolios within Council including ensuring reporting and acquittal processes for successful applications are finalised with all funding bodies. About you… Tertiary qualifications and or substantial experience in a relevant field or discipline that may include Human Services, Community Development, Welfare, Social Work or Social Sciences disciplines. Previous experience in a Local Government environment would be well regarded. Extensive experience strengthening communities through community development and capacity building. Extensive knowledge and experience of how to apply community development principles and contemporary practices in the area of community development, sport and recreation, event planning, funding, grant management and disaster management.
