Lead the internal legal services team Provide expert legal advice to internal business units across a broad range of issues Work in a dynamic and customer focused team About the role This position is required to ensure legal risk is mitigated and that Central Coast Council is appropriately represented and legally protected.
To be successful in this role, you will have: Degree qualification in Law or other equivalent qualification that satisfied the criteria to be admitted as a legal practitioner in NSW Admitted or immediately eligible for admission as a Solicitor of the Supreme Court of New South Wales Extensive experience and full understanding of the political and social context in which Local Government operates, and the provision of authoritative, specialist, expert and strategic legal advice on complex and sensitive matters Recent experience in advising on environmental, planning and regulatory law with extensive experience in Court attendance and knowledge of appropriate Court protocol including experience appearing, with and without counsel, in proceedings in Classes 1, 2, 4 and 5 in the Land and Environment Court of NSW, and in the Supreme Court and inferior courts, with experience in the interpretation and execution of legislative requirements under relevant Acts and Regulations Our position description provides more information for you to learn more about this role.
Other important information The salary range for this position ranges between $120k - $144k plus 11.5% superannuation This is a temporary full-time role This role will be able to access a 9 day fortnight We are able to offer hybrid and flexible working conditions for this role  This role is located at the Wyong Administration Building.
