Seeking experienced Principal Safety Specialist for permanent role with immediate start.
About the Role
The Principal Safety Specialist provides project level expert advice & coaching, directly supporting the project delivery team and partnering with contractor teams and key stakeholders to manage HSE operational risk.
In this role you will:
Provide HSE leadership, support and technical guidance for the delivery of safety support and service.
Support the identification of relevant risks through quality and effective risk assessments.
Provide input to the compliance with and assurance of safety standards, procedures & systems.
Undertake analytics activities for safety data including benchmarking, lessons learnt and developing key performance metrics.
Support frontline leaders in building understanding of and compliance with relevant company HSE and legal requirements.
Conduct incident investigations including ICAM.
Manage Safety Systems and data quality control related to portfolio projects.
Develop and deliver safety content for upskilling of personnel.
Support legislative compliance and reporting for internal and external reporting including regulatory.
About you:
Minimum 3-5 years of relevant HSE experience in a similar large scale project delivery role.
Experience on an underground mining operation.
Demonstrated ability to reliably deliver team results and meet deadlines.
Leading change initiatives under difficult circumstances.
Ability to engage and work effectively with both internal and external stakeholders and influence diverse teams.
Strong acumen for HSE data analytics and business intelligence platforms.
Understanding of South Australian HSE legislation, including Major Hazard Facility.
Working knowledge of regulatory HSE policies and procedures and their implementation in the mining sector.
