Principal Project Officer - Online LearningLevel 7, $128,077 - $136,891 per annum (pro-rata)
This is a permanent full-time position commencing February 2025 Statewide Services provides the services and supports required by schools to enable student achievement, with a focus on those students and schools that need it most.
It encompasses both school and system-facing service delivery.
While it primarily exists to support schools, it also has an important system-facing role supporting strategy and policy development.
The Service Design and Support Directorate sits within Statewide Services and provides the shared functions and support needed to strengthen services to schools.
The Role This is an outstanding opportunity for a highly motivated and experienced project or program management professional to join our Capability Support branch to contribute to the strategic planning, development and provision of educational technologies, online tools and services to support schools, teachers and students in Western Australian public schools.
We are seeking an enthusiastic individual who can develop strategic and collaborative partnerships with stakeholders to drive the successful delivery of educational technologies and online learning systems, projects or strategies.
This role involves partnering with stakeholders to conceptualise future school and system requirements to influence and drive change that aligns to the Department's strategic priorities and meets the needs of our customers.
This requires a high-level understanding and experience of contemporary educational technologies and sound understanding of the K-12 education environment.
Ideally you will have a strong understanding of the importance of student online safety consideration including relevant policies such as the Students Online in Public Schools policy and procedures.
In this role you will:
Provide consultative support and training to schools and business areas including in person and online, currently this includes areas such as the Departments teaching and learning platform Connect and other online services for teaching and learning such as Microsoft and WebEx.Provide advice to senior personnel within Statewide Services and the Department on matters pertaining to online learning and educational technologies.Contribute to the development, establishment and coordination of policies, strategies and projects related to online learning and the use of contemporary educational technologies.Liaise with the Department Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) division to progress online learning system development, implementation and support requirements.Your ability to contribute to team processes, take initiative, embrace challenges, and focus on successful outcomes will see you succeed in this role.
Experience in managing educational technology support services or complex projects/programs with strong user experience focus and business analysis skills to inform process and system improvement will be highly regarded.
You will demonstrate the ability to be agile and responsive to the needs of the role and competing priorities.
This position is primarily based at the East Perth Department of Education site however regular travel to the Padbury Statewide Services Centre will be required.
