Your contribution:  
• Develop a strategic competency framework to increase national park management responsibility for First Nations organisations, including circulating highlevel advice to project stakeholders and the leadership team.
• Develop and maintain highly collaborative relationships with First Nations people, Traditional Owners and other key stakeholders to underpin the success of the national park management transition as well as participate in professional networks as required.
• Assist and support the development of options for the Department's consideration that delivers outcomes aligned to First Nations people rights and aspirations.
• Assist and support projects and teams across the branch to ensure successful and timely delivery of outcomes in support of the Department's strategic direction.
• Provide specialist advice including policy support and interpretation of protected area legislation (Nature Conservation Act 1992, Marine Parks Act 2004, Aboriginal Cultural Heritage Act 2003, Torres Strait Islander Cultural Heritage Act 2003, Native Title Act 1993) and related departmental legislation, policies, practices and processes to senior management.

About you
• Demonstrated understanding or relevant experience in relation to conservation and/ or land management, to effectively develop, monitor and evaluate complex operational and policy arrangements, which are underpinned by legislation.
• In protected area management arrangement or similar, a demonstrated ability to develop policy options to resolve complex issues.
• In relation to land management, a thorough knowledge, or a demonstrated ability to rapidly acquire, the policy landscape addressing the rights and aspirations of First Nations people.
• Demonstrated experience in supporting productive working relationships, particularly experience in working effectively with First Nations people.
