Exciting Role- Permanent, Full-time, Brisbane CBD | Be responsible for leading and facilitating the coordination and management of complex projects and activities across the Division, particularly in relation to delivery of a state-wide training and education program for forensic medical examination services Statewide.
The role
The role is responsible for leading and managing high-impact projects within Forensic Medicine Queensland, Office of the Chief Medical Officer, with a primary focus on developing and delivering a state-wide forensic examiner education program. The role will also involve identifying and managing project risks, ensuring quality outcomes are met within established timelines. As a key advisor on complex, sensitive matters, this position requires the preparation of detailed reports, cabinet submissions, and strategic briefings for senior management, aligning project initiatives with the Department's strategic priorities.
The position will lead consultation and negotiations with a diverse range of stakeholders, ensuring that innovative initiatives, policies, and strategies are effectively analysed and implemented. The successful candidate will manage stakeholder relationships, provide high-level support to relevant committees, and ensure ethical decision-making in line with organisational goals. In addition, the role requires compliance with workplace health and safety, anti-discrimination, and equal opportunity practices, in accordance with the Department of Health's core values.
The successful person
To succeed in this role, you will need extensive experience in leading the coordination and delivery of advice in a large, complex setting, with a proven ability to critically evaluate and synthesize information from multiple sources. You will also demonstrate strong organizational skills, including the ability to proactively identify, analyze, and resolve problems by implementing effective strategies, ensuring project outcomes are met within set timelines through initiative and accountability.
Additionally, you will possess excellent consultation and negotiation skills, with a demonstrated ability to engage and collaborate with both internal and external stakeholders on issues of significant importance to the organization. You will be able to represent the Department of Health effectively and proactively. Furthermore, you will have the capability to work well within a team, providing leadership, motivating staff, and fostering an environment that values development and coaching, enabling team members to perform at their highest potential.
