Infrastructure Services Division (ISD) provides quality infrastructure services to the Department.
ISD is a highly motivated, energetic and results orientated Division focused on delivering flexible, innovative and responsive infrastructure solutions.
ISD contributes to teaching and learning outcomes in schools by aligning facilities services to whole of government initiatives and departmental priorities.
Core functions include policy formulation, strategic planning, program formation, project delivery and performance reporting.
About the Role
As the Principal Project Coordinator, you will have responsibility for the following:
Lead and coordinate all aspects of project delivery including initial planning, construction and commissioning of multiple school infrastructure projects ranging in value from $3 million up to $100 million within a legislative and contractual framework.
Lead and report against key sub-programs and significant projects within the Department's Investment Program.
Develop, maintain and monitor critical relationships with clients, stakeholders and service providers for the purpose of achieving and sustaining a high level of client satisfaction.
Prepare coherent reports, correspondence and submissions to key stakeholders and clients.
Provide advice and guidance to other staff including administration and financial teams.
Travel, including local and overnight travel is a requirement of the role.
The successful candidate must be able to perform this travel and if required, will be provided a departmental vehicle where appropriate.
The Principal Project Coordinator reports to the Manager, Growth Delivery, Portfolio Delivery, Infrastructure Delivery based in the Brisbane CBD.
Our ideal candidate will possess the following attributes:
Demonstrated experience delivering government infrastructure projects including experience delivering numerous projects concurrently across geographically diverse locations.
Demonstrated high level capacity to work effectively under pressure and within strict time constraints.
Proven ability to work collaboratively with others as well as individually.
Demonstrated effective communication, consultation and negotiation skills with the ability to represent the department and to establish and maintain mutually productive partnerships with clients, team members and other stakeholders.
Demonstrated knowledge of contemporary concepts, strategies and issues associated with physical asset management, and the application of this knowledge, to develop innovative solutions that meet the needs and expectations of clients.
Proven ability to support and motivate staff and contribute to the realisation of organisational goals through high level leadership in order to meet client needs and achieve corporate objectives and agreed outcomes.
Travel and overnight absences from base will be required of this position.
