About the RoleWe have multiple exciting opportunities across Copper South Australia Major Projects and Copper South Australia Asset Projects for Principals to join the Projects Commercial teams based in Adelaide (ad-hoc travel to site only).
These positions can offer exceptional flexible work options including school-holiday flexibility, part-time and other options.
In this role you will:
Develop strategies, undertake sourcing, execute new contracts and manage change compliant with corporate governance requirements and relevant statutory obligations.Take the lead in facilitating meetings with internal and external stakeholders to sponsor deeper relationships with all supply chain partners.Develop and implement advanced commercial techniques to leverage value creation opportunities.Provide contract management support (including administration and leading negotiations) to project teams throughout the contract life-cycle.Monitor performance of work under contract at both project and portfolio levels in line with contracted Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).Maintain relationships with key stakeholders to become a highly valued contract expert, trusted with commercial support.Understand and implement principles and methods of dispute avoidance and resolution.Adopt a continuous improvement mindset to all aspects of the contracting lifecycle.Support BHP's implementation of its social value goals including Indigenous and Traditional Owner contracting partnerships and participation in our workforce.Support the Lead in providing functional expertise, mentoring, coaching and guidance to the team whilst fostering a positive team culture.About YouTo be successful in this role you will have:
A subject matter expert with 8+ years' experience in a contract and/or commercial role, ideally within a major projects and/or construction environment (eg. mining, defence and infrastructure).Sound commercial acumen and financial evaluation skills, with excellent judgement to deliver the best outcomes for our business.Experience on construction projects negotiating contract terms, as well as setting contract and procurement strategies for complex projects.A collaborative and inclusive approach, with advanced communication skills.Strong multi-tasking and organizational management skills.Strong coaching and mentoring ability.Ability to think laterally to independently resolve issues and influence change.It will also be beneficial to have (but not essential):
