Job Title: Principal Procurement Specialist Location: Brisbane's North / Hybrid Employment Type: 3-month initial contract with extension options Osborne Richardson is working with our Local Government client in Brisbane's North to source an experienced Principal Procurement Specialist.
This key role will focus on driving strategic procurement initiatives and high-value contract management to support council operations.
We are seeking candidates who bring a robust background in major procurement strategies, supplier relationship management, and end-to-end sourcing expertise.
Key Responsibilities: - Develop Major Tender Strategies: Lead the development of Significant Contracting Plans and Major Tender Strategies, collaborating closely with stakeholders to deliver procurement plans tailored to meet council objectives.
Experience in sourcing and managing high-value assets or services will be critical to your success in this role.
- Implement Supplier Panel Arrangements: Set up and manage new supplier panel arrangements, such as Preferred Supplier Arrangements, Prequalified Supplier Arrangements, or Standing Offer Arrangements.
This will involve thorough market analysis, rigorous supplier evaluation, and a strategic approach to panel setup, ensuring council's procurement needs are met efficiently and cost-effectively.
- Lead Contract Negotiations: Take ownership of contract negotiations for large, high-value contracts, working to secure favorable terms while managing risk effectively.
Your prior experience in direct negotiation and contract management will support council in forming sustainable, value-driven agreements with key suppliers.
Key Requirements: - Demonstrated Experience in Strategic Sourcing with a focus on major tenders, preferably within the public sector.
- Direct Involvement in Supplier Panel Arrangements, including the design and implementation of structured supplier agreements.
- Proven Negotiation Skills in leading high-stakes contract discussions with a focus on achieving win-win outcomes for all stakeholders.
