About the roleThis is an exciting and opportune time to join the Procurement team as Principal Procurement Officer at DLGSC as we enter a period of expansion and development. This position leads and manages the Procurement team and reports to the Director Procurement (CPO). We have one permanent, full time (75 hrs p/f) position available.
The team is responsible for providing specialist advice, procurement facilitation and strategic support to all procurement and contract governance activities - along with ensuring the necessary frameworks, policies, processes and systems are in place to meet the Agency's requirements. In this role you will guide and lead the team to achieve these outcomes.
What we're looking for someone with:
Proven expertise in developing and implementing procurement and governance frameworks, policies, and practices within a public sector environment, ensuring compliance with statutory and government accountability standards.Demonstrated leadership experience in managing procurement and contract management functions, with a focus on developing and mentoring staff to ensure high performance and service quality.Expertise in implementing performance reporting frameworks and governance strategies that enhance accountability and compliance in procurement and contract management processes across the organisation.Well-developed communication skills with the ability to effectively consult, negotiate and influence both internal and external stakeholders.Knowledge and experience of core statutory requirements for senior positions within a Government or large corporate environment.Those in possession of or progress towards a relevant tertiary qualification in procurement, governance and/or law are strongly encouraged to apply.
