Position: Principal Primary Systems Engineer Salary: Starting at $186,058.00 plus 16% Superannuation Benefits: Free gym membership + onsite physio As a Principal Primary Systems Engineer, you will be responsible for the zone substation asset renewal and maintenance programs and providing expert advice on the design and construction for new zone substations.
You will work closely with the other Principal Engineers in Protection, Automation and Communications Systems, to develop our substation designs to meet customer needs while maintaining safety, network security, and reliability.
Innovation with equipment selection, substation architecture, and maintenance strategies will be key to success.
Responsibilities: Lead and manage the staff within the Zone Primary Systems team.
Develop and implement maintenance strategies using Reliability Centred Maintenance (RCM) methodology, and develop asset portfolio strategies and business cases for asset replacement programs and projects.
Manage development of designs for zone substation primary and associated secondary systems to meet the requirements of the asset replacement program.
Prepare long-term forward-looking risk-based reliability and investment scenario analysis for zone substation primary assets.
Ensure that all necessary policies, procedures, and standards relating to zone substation primary systems are developed, implemented, and communicated to all relevant staff within Evoenergy.
Liaise with other departments regarding zone primary system design, safety-in-design, quality, testing, and related issues to ensure adherence to standards and that the users' expectations and requirements are met.
Qualifications: Tertiary qualifications in Systems Engineering or Electrical Engineering; recognized for membership of the Institution of Engineers or relevant industry institution.
Knowledge and experience with zone substation electrical network primary system equipment, substation design, engineering, maintenance, and testing.
Project management experience with the ability to develop clear project plans, effectively communicate with stakeholders, and monitor project progress through to delivery.
Ability to work flexibly, adapt, innovate, and accept new ideas, willing to approach new challenges and adjust plans to meet new priorities.
