What you will do (key responsibilities/duties): Drive the implementation and ongoing improvement of DAF program and project management; conduct reviews of programs and projects and deliver high quality program and project governance and guidance to stakeholders.Drive the implementation and ongoing improvement of DAF portfolio management and strategic investment prioritisation to focus the department's investment on the delivery of priority outcomes, consistent with DAF's and the government's strategic direction.Report and provide insights on DAF's portfolio, programs, and projects performance to support both departmental and whole-of-government reporting requirements and conduct analysis to identify and implement cost-saving opportunities.Drive organisational performance and inform investment decisions through development of high-quality briefing notes, presentations, information papers, and reports on the department's portfolio, programs, projects, and core business for DAF Senior Leaders and governance committees.Foster a culture of collaboration within and external to the Portfolio Strategic Investment team and build trusted and effective working relationships with stakeholders.Represent the Portfolio and Strategic Investment team in departmental forums, committees and in whole-of-government processes as required.What you will bring (qualifications, registrations, experience): Demonstrated strong experience and qualifications in portfolio and/or program and/or project management, and desirably proven expertise in organisational performance and/or financial management.Experience in financial analysis and the implementation of cost-saving initiatives.Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly and effectively to Senior Leaders and governance bodies.Why join the department (benefits): The work we do is widespread and varied, but our people are united by an innate sense of purpose, and a passion to serve their fellow Queenslanders.
