Join a newly created team of planners in a dedicated Housing Unit working to support the assessment of housing projects across the state.
Your knowledge of the Victoria Planning Provisions and statutory and strategic planning processes will ensure that you can provide authoritative advice to decision makers in the planning process. The role requires collaboration with multidisciplinary teams across DEECA, including technical experts on biodiversity matters, and the ability to foster and maintain relationships with key partners within DEECA and other government stakeholders. The role will benefit from DEECA's positive workplace culture and flexible working arrangements and be supported by a dynamic team of professionals across the branch.
Specialist/Technical Expertise/Qualifications A tertiary qualification in land use planning is mandatory. Detailed working knowledge of and experience in applying the Victoria Planning Provisions and experience in the preparation of place-based strategic plans is desirable. An understanding of current issues in regional planning and environmental consideration when planning for residential growth. Experience in preparing and delivering land use planning advice and managing approval inputs into significant environmental impact assessments would be advantageous. This is an ongoing position. The work location for this position is flexible within Victoria with hybrid work arrangements available.
