MMG's Melbourne head office currently has a vacancy for Principal, Mine Closure.
Located within our Asset Support and Life of Asset Planning Group, the purpose of this role is to: design, manage and monitor closure planning requirements ensure closure considerations, risks and costs are incorporated into life of asset planning, operational plans, and budgets support operating assets with tasks and activities as per the closure strategy provide closure subject matter support to merger, acquisition, divestment and project development opportunities This is an exciting opportunity to work across multiple open pit and underground operations to add value, reduce risk, and continually improve our closure processes.
To be considered, we ideally seek: experience across the various planning aspects related to mine closure and rehabilitation, with particular attention to landforms, land use, biodiversity, water and mineral waste management.
understanding of environmental standards and practices across the mining cycle, from exploration, project, operational, closure, to post closure phases.
application of a risk-based approach to closure planning and rehabilitation.
skills in research, stakeholder engagement, communication, report writing, presentation, and problem solving in relation to mine closure and rehabilitation demonstrated ability to provide detailed verbal and written advice on technical, socio economic and environmental issues associated with closure planning and rehabilitation.
