Paluma Environmental Education Centre is seeking a Principal for a temporary full-time position.

This unique opportunity is for a 12-month duration, starting 08 July 2024 until 13 July 2025.

The Paluma Environmental Education Centre is nestled amongst the lush, tropical rainforests of the Paluma Range National Park in the Wet Tropics World Heritage Area. Situated approximately 80km north of Townsville, the Centre is the perfect base for an exposure to one of nature's most delicate and diverse ecosystems.

Our programs and learning experiences are designed to support student learning across the Australian Curriculum, and are delivered through a range of approaches, both on-site and at other locations.
Our Pedagogical Framework focusses on learning with the Head, Heart and Hand, and allows students to engage with knowledge and concepts in ways they may not experience through their day to day classroom learning.
Our Mission:
To deliver quality environmental education and other specialist learning experiences across the curriculum;To encourage student awareness of, connection to and responsibility for self, others and place; andTo nurture sustainable practices and positive behaviour change in students, schools and the community.About the Role Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Lead the school community to develop, articulate and commit to a shared educational vision focussed on providing quality learning outcomes for all students.Uphold the principalship as a values based, ethical and moral activity.Embed socially just practices in daily school life.Please refer to the attached role description for any mandatory requirements for this position.
