Position Information Woodburn Public School is located on Bundjalung land, on the Far North Coast of NSW.
The school has an enrolment of 114 students, of whom 19% are Aboriginal.
Classes comprise five mainstream classes and two support classes – an Autism and Intellectual disability class (AU/IO), and a Multi-categorical class (MC).
The school's Family Occupation and Education Index (FOEI) is 128.
The school has a dynamic team of teachers and support staff, led by an executive team comprising 1.0 Assistant Principal (AP) and 1.2 allocation of Assistant Principal, Curriculum and Instruction (APCI).
The community of Woodburn was heavily impacted by the flooding event of 2022, and the school prioritizes supporting families and students through a strong focus on wellbeing and community connection.
In conjunction with the wellbeing focus, the school aims to enhance opportunities for all learners, from those requiring support to those demonstrating high potential.
One-to-one devices have been recently added to maximize student learning and assist teachers in engaging students with relevant tools.
Selection Criteria A highly visible and approachable leader with outstanding organisational skills and a demonstrated ability to build staff capacity at all career stages and work collaboratively with the wider school community to inspire continuous school improvement.
Proven capacity to analyse and interpret various data sources to evaluate school programs and strategic initiatives, with demonstrated evidence of impact on student outcomes.
Effective leadership skills with a proven ability to nurture a school culture of positive wellbeing, student-centred inclusive education, quality differentiated learning, and high expectations for all students and staff.
Evidence of impact in leading trauma-informed practices and student wellbeing initiatives that respond to the diverse needs of students.
General Selection Criteria High level educational leadership with the skills to lead and manage a complex public school focused on the delivery of high-quality education.
Ability to lead and manage rigorous and inclusive whole school teaching and learning programs.
High level communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build positive relationships and engage all levels of the school and educational community.
Ability to lead and manage the development and performance of staff to improve teaching and learning.
Ability to plan systems and manage resources effectively and equitably to enhance teaching and learning.
Capacity to lead staff in implementing the Department's Aboriginal education policies and to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people.
Conditions If you have not held a substantive principal position in a NSW Public School at any time in the past five (5) years, you need to have completed the NSW Public School Leadership and Management Credential to be eligible to apply.
You will need to attach a copy of your provisional credential certificate or final credential certificate as part of your application.
An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement.
If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.

The classification and remuneration of our school principals is based on school complexity, as measured through each school's RAM allocation.
As part of the ongoing application of the new structure, a review of thresholds and outcomes will occur on an annual basis.
The principal classification for this school is Principal Level 1 for 2023 and also for 2024.
Applicants are to include details of their WWCC clearance number as part of this application.
