The successful candidate will manage the Development team for this project and be heavily involved in hands-on development.The Principal Lead Developer will build meaningful relationships with key business stakeholders, advocate and drive the V/Line technology vision, and provide necessary technical guidance and advice to various solutions.Key Accountabilities include:Lead teams in developing solutions for complex technical and business requirementsPlay a key role in the hands-on development for the TrackR projectFoster a culture of continuous learning and growth within the development teamMentor and guide Developers to enhance their technical skills and professional developmentProvide guidance and coaching to Developers as they lead activities such as peer review sessions, resolving issues, challenging othersCreate and manage Product procedures, ensuring others do so too and drive process improvementEvaluate existing solutions and initiate continuous improvementsEstablish and enhance software development standards, best practices, and automationDevelop, document, and oversee the implementation of detailed solution components in accordance with guidelinesEnsure agreed quality from code architecture to end-user experienceEnhance continuous integration and build automation systemsEffectively engage with diverse stakeholders both within and outside BISContribute to both Business-As-Usual (BAU) and project initiativesBalance current delivery with future enhancements while aligning to IT and organisation strategyAbout youMust have 5+ years' experience successfully managing a team of Software DevelopersDemonstrated experience with software development practices and Agile methodologiesMicrosoft or AWS certifications, highly desirableProven experience designing and implementing software design patterns and best practicesTechnology experience essential to the role:C#, .Net 6 or aboveAngular 14 or aboveSQL Server, 2016 or aboveEntity Framework, Linkq2DB, or other ORM'sASP .Net CORE, Web API, MVC, RESTful servicesTypescript, HTML, CSS, JSON, XMLRabbitMQ, SignalRAWS (Compute, Storage, Integration, IaaC, Networking)Development source control tools (Azure DevOps, Jenkins or others)Tertiary qualification in Software Development/Engineering, Computer Science or related discipline, highly desirableSalary for this position is commensurate with the successful candidate's aligned skills and experience.In addition to free Myki travel, we offer:Community impact - Make a genuine difference.
