You will utilise in-depth expertise to drive regional wide programs and strategies designed to assist in building the region's workforce capability into the future.
As the senior HR professional within the region, you will also provide expert advice and guidance to the Regional Leadership Team on complex employee relations matters, perform discrete and sensitive reviews, assessments, and investigations.Managing a regionally dispersed team of HR professionals to deliver high quality and consistent HR related services within the Central Queensland region.Ensuring appropriate HR governance processes are in place and maintained by all HR staff for matters including but not limited to establishment management, recruitment, and selection, reporting and case management.Planning, developing, leading, and evaluating significant and complex workforce projects and strategies to build regional capability, ensuring responsiveness to meet the current and future needs of the region and best practice workforce management principles.Providing expert, strategic advice to the Regional Leadership Team and relevant stakeholders on workforce planning and organisational development activities, including driving the development of skills, capabilities and understanding within this area.Leading the design, development and delivery of learning and development projects and activities, including operational capability and leadership development.Case management of complex employee relations matters, with a focus on resolution and effective management within relevant legislation, directives, policies, and procedures.Mentoring and coaching HR Advisors and regional managers in effectively dealing with complex workplace matters.Prepare high-quality written documentation such as reports, briefing notes and other correspondence for the Regional Leadership team and other stakeholders on a range of complex and confidential workforce management issues.Develop and maintain strong relationships and partnerships with internal and external stakeholders to gain support and influence HR outcomes for the division.Represent the region on committees and working groups and in other situations relevant to the position and progressing HR related matters.Mandatory & Desirable QualificationsDue to access to sensitive data, a criminal history check will be undertaken prior to appointment.Applications to remain current for 12 months.Job Ad Reference: QLD/613216/25Closing Date: Wednesday, 29 January 2025The Department of Transport and Main Roads (TMR) is a diverse organisation made up of more than 11,500 employees representing 80 occupational groups across Queensland.
