Principal Guardian Triage NSW Trustee and Guardian
1 x Ongoing full-time vacancy and 1 x Temporary full-time vacancy up to 12 Months.
35 hours per week.
Location: Flexible from the following Sydney CBD, Parramatta, Gosford, Newcastle and Wollongong Flexible and hybrid working options available.
Clerk Grade: Level 7 / 8.
Base salary $106,025 p.a.
to $117,363 p.a.
plus superannuation and annual leave loading.

About the role
The Principal Guardian Triage is responsible for review and assessment of new guardianship orders and managing urgent cases regarding medical care, legal, immigration, accommodation, etc.
You will usually manage the cases for up to 35 days and then develop and implement a decision-making plan to allocate it to the relevant Regional Team.
Your decisions will be consistent with the Guardianship Act 1987 (NSW) principles, the Public Guardian's standards, policy, and guidelines to ensure the best outcome for the customer.
This role requires you to participate up to four times a year in an after-hours weekly roster.
The roster includes working on a weekend: Friday 5:00 pm - Monday 9:00 am as well as weekdays Monday - Friday 5:00 pm - 9:00 am.
About you
Capable of managing a range of new guardianship matters, including complex and contentious matters, and negotiating with professionals using strong communication skills.
Adept at preparing accurate reports, submissions, and recommendations to senior officers and the Public Guardian, as well as well-reasoned reports for the NSW Civil and Administrative Tribunal (NCAT).
Advanced interpersonal skills with the ability to liaise & negotiate effectively with individuals at all levels.
Excellent written skills to produce action plans and detailed reports.
A positive can-do attitude with the ability to manage complex caseloads.
A self-starter who can work both collaboratively and independently.
Good understanding of legislation: Guardianship Act 1987 (NSW) & Mental Health Act 2007 (NSW) Degree or equivalent experience in social, health, behavioural sciences, or relevant experience.
Available to travel throughout NSW and to undertake after-hours work on a rotational basis.
