Job Description The Litigation Branch in the Legal Services Division is looking for Principal Government Lawyers to enhance our Litigation Team in 4 locations across Australia.
The Litigation Branch manages reviews of agency decisions heard in the Administrative Appeals Tribunal. The role requires a lawyer to have demonstrated experience in leading and managing a team. They must be able to show they can negotiate with influence and communicate effectively. They will possess superior advocacy skills that can articulate complex legislative requirements into simple terms before the Tribunal on behalf of the Commonwealth. They will show a demonstrated ability to provide accurate and timely legal advice and develop strategic relationships. Further, the ideal candidate will have a radar for identifying, assessing, managing, and reporting on risk.
