About Catholic Education Diocese of Cairns
Catholic Education in the Diocese of Cairns comprises of 30 schools and colleges across Far North Queensland and the central education office, Catholic Education Services, which is located across three offices in the city of Cairns. Our Cairns Catholic Education community has 20 primary schools, two Prep to Year 12 colleges, and eight secondary colleges. The most recent college to open was the first Catholic school in Australia to be co-located with a university. Another of our colleges is a Special Assistance College with campuses in Cairns, Cooktown, and Edmonton. Over the next five years, there are two new schools planned at Kewarra Beach and Gordonvale.
About Good Counsel College
Good Counsel College is an independent Catholic Secondary College in the Marist Tradition and is part of the Mother of Good Counsel Parish in Innisfail. Parish Priest Fr Kerry Crowley oversees the College on behalf of the Bishop of Cairns – Most Rev James Foley DD DPh; and it is administered by Catholic Education Services – Diocese of Cairns.
