That we are ethical and honest with our clients and each other.Deadline-driven but casual and fun.Minimal bureaucracy.Nimble and adaptable.The roleOur consultants' key role is to prepare environmental impact assessments (EIA), with a secondary role of managing compliance with these approvals through client-side assurance and auditing support.
All roles report to the Managing Director.
The Principal Environmental Consultant must be a 'people person', have an ambitious and entrepreneurial spirit and be quality-focused while performing the following functions:
EIAProvide clients with strategic environmental and regulatory advice, including working with their engineering teams to optimise project designs.Liaise with regulatory agencies.Direct, project manage and/or contribute authorship of EIA documents, including:Offshore Environment Plans (EPs);Onshore Environmental Management Plans (EMPs);EPBC Act Referrals;Offshore renewable energy Management Plans;Oil Spill Emergency Plans (OPEPs);Operational and Scientific Monitoring Programs (OSMPs);Environmental Impact Statement (EIS);Environmental Effects Statement (EES).Direct, mentor and undertake quality assurance of our consultants' EIA work.Coordinate or assist in the coordination of specialist consultants (scope, manage and review) to deliver technical studies used to support EIA (e.g., ecology, cultural heritage, oil spill, underwater sound, produced formation water, drill cuttings and muds dispersion modelling).Lead/facilitate project risk assessment workshops.Stakeholder consultationProvide clients with technical inputs for stakeholder consultation.Assurance managementLead and assist our consultants to deliver project implementation duties, which includes management of commitments registers, preparation and delivery of inductions, inspections and audits, project close-out reports.Build relationships with new clients and foster ongoing relationships with existing clients to promote the business and win projects.
This involves:Attending conferences, networking functions and industry events.Preparing project proposals.Mentoring consultants by imparting industry knowledge through document reviews and conversations.Other duties that support the maintenance of high-quality project delivery and organic growth of the business.Support the Managing Director with other duties as required.Essential QualificationsYou must be tertiary qualified in one of the following disciplines:
Marine Biology/ScienceScienceSustainability ManagementEcologyEnvironmental EngineeringThis is a full-time staff position based in the Melbourne office.
You will be supported in your role through formal and informal training as required.
As a Principal Consultant, you are expected to possess the know-how and nous to help less experienced consultants develop their careers.
