About the Role
Reporting to the Environment Superintendent Systems and Governance, you will provide leadership on environmental reporting and reporting improvements within the Western Australian Iron Ore (WAIO) asset.
This is a high-profile role responsible for coordination and submission of our external and internal environmental reports, identification and delivery of improvements in reporting and use of data.
This Perth based role with some site travel will undertake the following:
Coordinate, review and submit external and internal environmental compliance reports (Annual Environmental Report, Impact Reconciliation reports, End of Month reporting, Group Reporting and others).
Develop and implement a reporting framework and methodologies, ensuring compliance to applicable obligations, regulations, standards and guidelines required for internal and external reporting.
Provide administrative systems support aimed at improving reporting quality and providing confidence in what we report internally (BHP Global Standards) and externally.
Coach and support in environmental data collection and reporting requirements.
Draw insights from compliance data to drive continuous improvement.
Contribute to elevate environment's profile within BHP and showcase exceptional performance backed by a strong and robust governance framework relating to environment reporting.
Proactively identify and support opportunities for continuous process improvement and governance process to evaluate data quality, streamline processes and enhance how the business uses environment data.
Liaise with external stakeholders on reporting improvements.
Lead comprehensive compliance data audits to evaluate and validate the accuracy and efficiency of data management processes and controls, ensuring continuous improvement and adherence to best practices.
Establish governance routines to enable effective reporting.
About You
Knowledge and understanding of Western Australian environmental legislation.
Demonstrated understanding of water and land data associated with compliance.
Experience leading change throughout an organisation.
Proven track record in developing and implementing robust processes relating to data management.
Ability to support and coach in reporting practices.
Ability to influence decisions and performance at multiple levels of the organisation in matters relating to environment using and managing quantitative and qualitative data to ensure compliance.
Strong engagement skills with a demonstrated capability to work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders.
GIS capability and understanding/experience with (environment) management systems.
Be detail oriented, while able to understand and communicate the broader business context.
Be flexible and be able to adapt to changing business needs.
Previous or similar roles in compliance reporting, governance, process improvement or equivalent.
Tertiary qualification in Environmental Science or equivalent.
