Principal Design Engineer - Transmission Lines HV ( Tower and 500kV )Our client is seeking an experienced Principal Design Engineer to play a pivotal role in their high-voltage (HV) transmission projects, with a primary focus on 500kV transmission lines and tower design.
This role involves working on complex engineering initiatives across Australia, supporting the nation's energy infrastructure.
With a strong commitment to renewable integration, you'll be involved in projects that drive the future of clean energy, including wind farms, solar farms, and grid stability improvements.
In this role, you will initially support bid teams to secure project approvals, ensuring successful technical proposals.
Once a project is awarded, you will transition into leading the design and engineering execution.
One of the first projects in the pipeline is a high-profile 500kV transmission line currently under NDA.
Key Responsibilities: Lead the detailed design and technical aspects of HV transmission and tower projects, ensuring compliance with engineering standards and quality benchmarks.Provide technical guidance on design aspects, digital engineering integration, and quality assurance.Oversee procurement, construction support, and commissioning phases, particularly focused on HV transmission and renewable integration.Mentor design teams, fostering engineering talent and promoting best practices across all project stages.Collaborate closely with clients, internal stakeholders, and external partners (designers, subcontractors, and consultants) to ensure alignment and project success.About You: Degree-qualified in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems, or a closely related field; a master's degree or additional specialization is advantageous.Professional accreditation such as Chartered Engineer status (e.g., CPEng) is highly desirable.Demonstrated experience in HV transmission projects, especially with Transmission lines specifically 500kV infrastructure.Strong project management skills, with a track record of guiding projects through all life cycle stages (R0 to R2).Effective collaboration skills, with a history of working across multiple teams, stakeholders, and delivery partners to achieve project goals.A proactive approach to leadership and mentoring, with a commitment to driving engineering quality and innovation.What We Offer: A senior role in high-impact projects critical to Australia's energy transformation and infrastructure growth.A collaborative, forward-thinking environment that values professional growth and technical excellence.Competitive salary package: $190,000 - $220,000 (Plus Super) and additional benefits.If you're a seasoned design engineer with a passion for HV transmission and a drive to contribute to Australia's renewable energy goals, apply now to join a team shaping the nation's energy future.
