Contribute to the development of health service planning functions including strategic and state-wide health service planning.Reporting to the Manager (Scenarios & Platforms) within Health Service Research, your role is crucial in ensuring the integrity and efficiency of our valuable data assets. You'll be in charge of the architecture and infrastructure that underpin our data operations. Your job involves following industry best practices at every step of the data journey, making sure data is acquired, modelled, ingested, transformed, stored, and accessed smoothly from source to target.You'll also regularly review data sources to keep them relevant, organized, and aligned with the needs of stakeholders who make important decisions. You'll work closely with key partners like eHealth to manage the administration, accessibility, and interoperability of our data platform, building strong and lasting relationships. In addition, you'll lead testing efforts to make sure data and software components are reliable, and you'll solve any issues that come up. You'll help new users get started on the data platform and be the go-to person for questions about data availability and its attributes.Your expertise in advanced data tools like Microsoft Azure, Power BI, Posit/R, Python, and SQL will be crucial in making data flow well and analysing a wide range of health service and population health data. Your insights will help us understand health service needs better through research and finding relevant data sources. At the same time, you'll be at the forefront of building service planning capabilities and capacities within the Department of Health and Hospital and Health Services. Your collaborative and effective communication skills will help you establish and maintain strong relationships with both internal and external partners.The successful personTo excel in this role, you need to have a deep understanding of the Health System in Queensland. This means knowing a lot about important health areas, the challenges the system faces, the specific needs of different groups of people, and healthcare data. You should also be good at finding, evaluating, and interpreting both qualitative and quantitative data and skilled in using a variety of data tools, whether it's on a physical server or in the cloud. Some of these tools include Azure, SQL Server, R Studio/Posit Workbench, Power BI, Qlik, and Tableau.
