Opportunity to provide high-level technical contract advice. Melbourne-CBD based + flexible hybrid working + Work on large complex contracts + meaningful work! About the role: The Victorian Health Building Authority (VHBA) is responsible for the planning and delivery of the Victorian Government's multibillion-dollar health infrastructure program including $16.6 billion in managed assets and $8.8 billion in planning and delivery.
Our work includes planning and building new hospitals and ambulance stations, aged care and mental health facilities, early parenting centres, redeveloping existing hospital facilities as well as replacing and upgrading engineering infrastructure.
Within the Delivery Unit (High Risk, High Value projects), the Contract Administration Unit (CAU) manages the transition of contracts from the commissioning of major Public Private Partnerships health projects to their ongoing contract management for the duration of the operating term (usually a period of 25 years). The Contract Administrator will report to the Director, the Contract Administration Unit and otherwise be accountable to Director, PPP. The number of individual Projects directly allocated to the Contract Administrator will depend on the volume
of Projects being managed by the CAU from time to time and in turn, the associated need for overall support and oversight of the program.
Contracts currently in the operations phase and managed by the Contract Administration Unit include Casey Hospital, the Royal Women's Hospital, the Royal Children's Hospital, the Bendigo Hospital and the Victorian Comprehensive Cancer Centre Project.
The new Footscray Hospital and the Frankston Hospital Redevelopment projects are currently under construction. The Contract Administration Unit will also be responsible for managing the operational phases of the new Footscray Hospital and the Frankston Hospital Redevelopment due for completion in late 2025 and 2026 (respectively).
The contracts that the Contract Administration Unit oversee have an estimated capital value of over $4 billion.
This position will be expected to work with autonomy and accountability whilst ensuring they remain consistent with High Value High Risk practices and policies including the Partnerships Victoria Framework as it applies to the management of operational PPPs.
This position is expected to model and uphold the Department's values and behaviours at all times.
