Environment, Science and Innovation Park Services; Management & Operations; Queensland Parks and Wildlife Services & Partnerships; Brisbane / Flexible We are seeking an experienced and dedicated professional to oversee the implementation of management planning for Queensland's terrestrial and marine protected areas and State forests.
In this role you will support a small team of regional planners to prepare values assessments, plans, statements & thematic strategies, such as visitor management strategies, developed under the Values Based Management Framework to support the strategic direction of the Department.
This includes delivering training & reviewing planning documents & associated spatial layers (using GIS software & spatial tools) for quality & consistency.

• Mentor staff involved in management planning for protected areas, forests and marine parks.
• Provide strategic direction for development of policies, procedures, standards and quality assurance measures to ensure high quality and consistent planning documents.
• Coordinate and assist in maintaining VBMF data support systems such as the VBMF database, spatial layer and estate tracker as a record of the Department's management planning.
• Provide detailed, accurate and timely reports, presentations, training programs, ministerial responses, internal and external correspondence as directed and as situations demand.
• Establish and maintain effective liaison, consultation and negotiations with regions, internal and external business groups, Government Departments and other stakeholders.
• Foster a workplace culture that supports and promotes the interests of First Nations people and actively engage through our work to contribute to better outcomes for First Nations people.
