The Principal Business Analyst provides support to the P&SCO Portfolio through the analysis of current procurement practices (including impacts to supply chain and finance practices) and the identification of improved operational approaches based on data inputs and industry best practices. The Principal Business Analyst will also work with statewide, regional and local teams to improve knowledge of analytical techniques and to provide additional support to teams for specific procurement exercises as required.

The successful candidate will analyse business requirements through a whole of health system lens and assess the needs within stakeholder groups so that efficiencies may be realised using improved system usage. Additionally, you will apply relevant analytical techniques to elicit and document complex requirements (e.g., Business Process Model and Notation (BPMN), analysis, etc.) to uncover inconsistencies or inefficiencies in current business processes and make actionable suggestions for enhancement related to procurement and supply chain processes.
Role fit The key requirements for this role are:
Experience working as an SAP Functional Analyst, preferably in procurement or supply chain. Excellent understanding of procurement and/or supply chain, and mechanisms associated with data management and control, and knowledge of or ability to rapidly acquire knowledge of procurement and/or supply chain processes. Excellent understanding of S/4HANA procurement and/or supply chain processes, functions, standards, tables and data. Demonstrated experience in the effective use of analysis tools and in using data to support business decisions, including demonstrated experience in Microsoft applications (e.g. MS Excel, MS Word, MS PowerPoint) and the ability to create text templates, charts, pivot tables and presentations. Extensive demonstrated understanding of regulatory obligations, threats to business continuity and the exercise of adequate control measures. Understands the complexities and diversity of working in complex environments with overarching public service obligations. Proven ability to adopt contemporary established practices, ideas or developments elsewhere and adapt them to meet current needs, and a demonstrated understanding of the key drivers for stakeholders, internal and external, to provide best value commercial solutions. High level communication skills and the ability to participate in constructive negotiations to achieve the best outcomes. Demonstrated experience leading business process modelling activities for large scale complex organisations and the ability to provide expert advice and recommendations on the application of appropriate business analysis techniques, methodologies, and tools. High level facilitation and engagement skills, with the proven ability to develop effective working and strategic relationships with a wide variety of internal and external stakeholders in an overall environment of change and evolution.
