We also provide recommendations to public sector agencies on future improvements they could make to deliver better outcomes to the South Australian community.What we offerKey leadership role within the Financial Audit Branch.Social events, to have some fun in your work life.About this roleAs the Principal Audit Manager (controls opinion and multi-agency reviews), you will be responsible for:Leading the planning, coordination, conduct and reporting on controls exercised by the Treasurer and public authorities.Producing the Annual Report on the controls opinion and taking a significant role in the production of the update to the Annual Report.Contributing significantly to the development and implementation of corporate and annual plan strategies.Coordinating multi-agency review arrangements under the controls opinion audit mandate.To be successful in this role, you need to have:Detailed knowledge of relevant legislation, professional standards, auditing concepts and techniques, government operations, public sector reforms and government accountability frameworks.Well-developed experience applying accounting and auditing standards and practices to resolve complex issues.Well-developed experience in interpreting legislation, developing and reviewing audit strategies and providing evidence-based technical advice to the development of appropriate controls opinion.Demonstrated ability to work under broad policy guidelines, exercise significant levels of independent judgement, and apply original thinking to identify and critically analyse complex problems.Highly developed written and verbal communication skills, in particular communicating complex and/or sensitive issues.Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain client relationships.Completed an appropriate Bachelor level degree (recognised in Australia) in accounting or commerce (majoring in accounting), or an appropriate degree recognised by the Auditor-General.Full membership of a professional accounting body, recognised by the Auditor-General.Australian citizen or Australian permanent resident at the time of applying.Specific requirementsA successful national criminal history record check.Shortlisted candidate/s will be asked to complete a pre-employment declaration.How to applyPlease click 'Apply' and it will direct you to our online application process (Seek user: please do not apply directly through Seek - use this link to our online application system).Your application will need to include a cover letter, resume and any other relevant documentation that supports your application.Your cover letter should be a maximum of two pages and must directly address the following three competencies, listed in the role description:Please address your cover letter to Daniel O'Donohue.The Audit Office of South Australia promotes diversity and flexible ways of working.
