Collectively we make the impossible possible.Recognised for delivering projects of global and national significance that help keep Australia safe, it is our shared passion that shapes our culture, and our people that make it a great place to work.About the OPPORTUNITYWe are seeking an experienced Principal Solution Architect with extensive enterprise-level expertise in application, enterprise architecture and infrastructure, within complex organizations.Reporting to the Manager, Strategy and Architecture, the Principal Architect will be responsible for providing design guidance and expertise required to positively influence informed business outcomes that align to strategy for proactively leading and supporting Enterprise Services Strategy and Architecture activities.Key responsibilities include:Ensure alignment between business strategies and the portfolio of IT projects, ensuring capability and technology improvements are appropriate and aligned to identified business or customer needs.Develop and maintain high-level architectural roadmaps, providing oversight on integration, infrastructure, networking, and solution design to ensure alignment with business objectives.Oversee the development of enterprise strategies and roadmaps to provide a cohesive framework for organizational initiatives.Coach, develop and manage staff by providing subject matter expertise to maximise team performance and drive objectives that are aligned to programme goals.Apply your broad architectural expertise to provide direction across multiple areas of IT, adapting to various project needs, from solution designs to enterprise-wide initiatives.Ongoing development of the maturity of the architecture practice.Support the creation and review of architectural artifacts, ensuring compliance with BAE's architecture governance.Proactively manage resourcing requirements to maintain a balanced commitment to strategic and operational architecture project delivery.Be at the forefront of technology innovation and bring in relevant insights as part of setting the architectural direction for Enterprise Services.Build relationships with key business and technology stakeholders, setting direction together and maintaining key Architecture artefacts, e.g., Architecture/Solution Overview.About YOUProven knowledge and experience in architecture and design methods and practices.Experience with establishing and managing Enterprise (Business, Information Application, Technology) practices.Application development leveraging cloud-native technologies, ideally Azure IaaS/PaaS.Experience in analysing large, complex domains and associated design.Familiarity with AI and high-performance computing is desirable.Cloud certification and network experience is desirable.Experience creating presentations for senior-level executives and technical audiences.Stakeholder engagement and exceptional presentation skills to senior-level executives.Experience in demand and capacity management and resource forecasting.We believe in hiring for potential, and we know that some candidates hesitate if they don't tick all the boxes.
