You will be seen as a leader in all technology, strategy, architecture, engineering and operations.
Key responsibilities:
The design and implementation of cutting-edge architecture patterns such as integrated micro front ends, scalable technology platform services, and cloud-native software (ranging through to serverless elements).
Adopt and optimise guardrails to be used across Westpac's architecture and engineering practice as required to support and drive an advanced engineering agenda.
Develop, communicate and drive adoption of reference architecture, framework and implementation of distributed applications and services that are optimised for operation within Westpac's distributed mesh environment.
Function as an architectural SME, embedded in one or more outcome-aligned cross-functional teams, in addition to being a trusted advisor to business management, as well as a proactive representative of your teams.
Guide and drive the re-factoring of Westpac's applications into cost-efficient sources of business value.
What do you need to succeed?
Significant enterprise level solutions architecture experience applying design and problem-solving to a range of business technology scenarios such as integration and consolidation, product and feature launch, incident management, and the application of data analytics and machine learning to business operations.
You are a passionate technologist who can cater your language and style to suit any audience (i.e.
you can easily switch from tech to business and everything in between!).
Extensive background in digital technology systems design, solid exposure to multiple architecture approaches, able to employ a variety of structured problem-solving techniques.
Tertiary qualifications in an ICT / Computer Science or related field with current certifications (e.g.
Cloud) accreditations and frameworks (e.g.
TOGAF).
Extensive internal and external stakeholder management at all levels with technical leadership and mentoring of peers.
Proven ability to navigate the trade-offs involved with adopting new technology vs. owning established technology that delivers quantifiable value.
Commercially astute with a commitment to continuous learning and the application of value-generating technology across design, planning, technology selection, hosting & operations.
Senior level stakeholder management experience and deep SME with regards to coordination models such as Single-Threaded Ownership, platform/framework teams, DevOps, Communities of Practice, and project teams.
