Principal Advisor, People and PerformanceExciting Temporary Full-time Opportunity to be part of a flexible team, based in Brisbane .
Reporting to the Manager, People and Performance. Your role will be responsible for providing expert practical advice and support to Hospital and Health Services and the Department of Health on complex employment matters and to assist in the delivery of significant and consistent outcomes and outputs that contribute to the achievement of Queensland Health's organisational goals.
The successful person As the successful candidate, you will:
Fulfil the responsibilities of this role in accordance with QPS values.Work collaboratively as a member of a high performing team to achieve and deliver quality outcomes for clients.Manage direct reports' performance, including coaching and mentoring to continue to professionally develop in both technical skills and behaviours.Provide expert advice and recommendations on appropriate management and resolution of complex employment matters including dismissal, discipline, suspension and medical assessment of employees.Collate and compile reports for the Minister, Public Service Commission and System Manager for human resource activities which include but are not limited to: suspensions, terminations, ill-health retirements, employee complaints and conduct and performance matters.Provide support as required at various tribunals and commissions, including (but not limited to) Queensland Industrial Relations Commission.Undertake where required research and analysis to develop advice, policy and strategic documents relating to complex employment matters.About us The Department of Health is responsible for the overall management of the public health system in Queensland. Human Resource Services Branch Human Resources Branch partners with stakeholders across Queensland Health to provide human resource strategies and support to realise the potential of our people in the delivery of quality healthcare to Queenslanders. The branch delivers a range of human resource services to attract and retain staff, build workforce culture and capability, develop and maintain employment arrangements, monitor and manage workforce performance, and provide assurance that the department's statutory obligations are met.
