We currently have an ongoing vacancy for a PrincipalAdvisor, Biodiversity Science and Knowledge withinour Science and Information branch within the Strategy, Science andCorporate Services division. The Principal Advisor, BiodiversityScience and Knowledge, provides scientific leadership to the SouthAustralian Government in relation to biodiversity and natureconservation science and information. The role is a recognisedexpert who provides strategic scientific advice, and enables theapplication of evidence in policy, strategy and programs. The rolealso provides leadership in partnerships with the research sector,to enable the mobilisation of external expertise and researchoutcomes to support Government priorities in relation tobiodiversity and nature conservation.
Key role outcomes:
Priority biodiversity research needs are identified andeffective, outcome-focussed partnerships between researchers,DEW business units and relevant external stakeholders aredeveloped and maintained.Emerging themes and issues relating to biodiversity andnature conservation are identified and considered within aSouth Australian context. Timely and specialist advice, expert analysis and briefingsare provided to the Minister, Chief Executive, Executive andsenior management, on critical and complex matters related tobiodiversity science and nature conservation. Staff are empowered to enable the development and use ofevidence in government decisions, through supportive teamleadership. Leadership, technical direction, mentoring and oversightare provided for ecology-related assessments, investigationsand project developmentIf you're ready to make a meaningful impact and help shape thefuture of biodiversity conservation, we want to hear from you!Apply now to join our team!

Essential Qualifications:

A postgraduate qualification in a relevant science,e.g. applied ecology, environmental science or nature conservationis essential
Special Conditions:
May be required to participate in fire management orassociated dutiesA current class "C" driver's license and willingness todrive is desirableSome out of hours work may be requiredIntra- state and inter-state travel including overnightabsences may be required.Remuneration: 

PO4 - $109,060 min - $118,690 max p.a.
