About the role: Reconnect Program: Supporting Youth and Families
The Reconnect Program is dedicated to helping young people aged 12 to 18, and up to 21 for those recently arrived in Australia, who are at risk of leaving home or who have already left. Our early intervention and prevention approach aims to strengthen relationships between young people and their families, schools, and communities.
Through a combination of counselling and mediation, we provide practical support, effective communication strategies, and conflict resolution techniques. Our team advocates for young people, helping them access resources they need to thrive.

With a strong focus on: Supporting young people to re-engage or strengthen their connections with education, training, the community, and employment.Facilitating and mediating family reconciliation whenever practicable and safe, between homeless young people or those at risk of homelessness and their families.Reducing instances of homelessness and stabilizing housing situations.Improving overall wellbeing and mental health.The position is based in Burnie within a multidisciplinary team that provides primarily child and youth-focused support from our Devonport, Burnie, and Zeehan offices. We are passionate about making a positive impact in the lives of young people. You will be well supported with regular supervision, case reviews, and excellent training opportunities.
