About the role
The Practitioner - Early Years (EY) will play a key role in supporting children and families experiencing vulnerability by enhancing access to early childhood education, health, and development services. This position focuses on building an Early Childhood Coordination (ECC) approach to ensure positive transitions and increased engagement in early childhood settings. The Practitioner - EY will work with existing Early Years services to improve outcomes, particularly for children facing disadvantage and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families.

This is position is a 18 Month Full-Time Fixed-Term Contract working 76 hours per fortnight based at the Cooloola Child and Family Centre, Gympie with some travel required to complete outreach work in the region. Possible contract extension dependant on continuation of Program funding. Pay rate commencing at $43.08 per/hour in accordance with the Level 4 of the Social and Community Services Award.

Responsibilities: Conduct intake assessments (phone, online, face-to-face) to determine eligibility and ensure appropriate service provision.Complete psycho-social assessments for clients with complex needs and develop coordinated service plans.Facilitate referrals to specialist services and support transitions to early childhood or health programs.Collaborate with local services, agencies, and schools to support families and improve access to services.Address cultural and language barriers to enhance access for vulnerable children and families.Support transitions to culturally appropriate early childhood education and care settings.Ensure high-quality service delivery, meet performance targets, and maintain accurate case records.Advocate for client rights and contribute to the development of client/community education and workshops.Maintain a minimum caseload, working with statutory agencies, and prepare case and court reports.Participate in team meetings, supervision, professional development, and contribute to continuous improvement.Qualifications, Credentials and Other Requirements Degree in Education - Early Childhood, Human Services or equivalent (desired)Current National Police CheckCurrent Blue CardCurrent Queensland Driver LicenceAbility and willingness to travel within the service region.About You: Experience working within a child-focused, family-centred framework.Skilled at engaging and supporting clients while adhering to established processes.Committed to maintaining confidentiality with a sensitive, non-judgmental approach.Strong communication skills (verbal, written, and interpersonal) with the ability to liaise effectively with diverse groups.Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.Able to work independently, take initiative, and collaborate as part of a team.Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Publisher, Outlook, and database applications.Anglicare is committed to building an inclusive and diverse workforce and encourages applications from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, those from cultural and linguistically diverse backgrounds, LGBTIQ+ communities, people with disabilities and people with a lived experience of mental health.
