Lifeline Direct (LLD) is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Lifeline Australia.
LLD focuses on supporting the development and ongoing implementation of suicide prevention and community wellbeing programs in the regions which we operate while looking for opportunities to grow Lifeline's services in geographical areas where they do not currently exist.
LLD encompasses Lifeline Centres in Hunter region, Central Coast, Eastern Suburbs-Bondi, New England North West, Northern NSW, Geelong and South West Victoria, Northern and Western Melbourne and Central Australia.
Our specialised and targeted services operate nationally via a telehealth model.
About Lifeline Direct The premise of LLD as the direct service delivery arm means that, LLD delivers Lifeline's 24/7 national crisis support service via 13 11 14 as well as a range of other services including face to face counselling, telehealth services and training.
More recently our services have expanded to deliver some of Australia's most vital free helpline services including MensLine Australia, Suicide Call Back Service, and SuicideLine Victoria.
About the role The Practice Specialist will have a solid understanding of all services at Lifeline Direct.
They will build and maintain strong working relationships across LLD Service Delivery business units to ensure evidence informed excellence in service provision and provide clinical supervision both individual and group sessions for counselling and crisis support team members.
Key activities include, but are not limited to:
Maintaining cross-functional relationships across LLD to have a strong understanding of the organisation.
Having a coaching-based mindset in working counsellors in performance improvement.
Developing and delivery education sessions including Induction.
Work closely with the Head of Quality and Clinical Improvement to coordinate, develop and enhance process improvements.
Championing practice excellence through quality monitoring and demonstrating a commitment to continuous quality improvement.
Having continued awareness of the interaction between client and counsellor.
Building and maintaining practice knowledge in a library.
Support Team Members through provision of individual and group Clinical Supervision.
Fixed term contract Maintain AHPRA registration.
What you bring to the role Tertiary qualification (minimum Bachelor) in Psychology, recognised or working toward Clinical supervision accreditation.
Knowledge of and experience in men's social health, crisis counselling, suicide prevention, relationship counselling, child abuse and family violence issues Extensive clinical supervision experience, both individual and group Demonstrated experience on education and training Demonstrated experience in clinical risk governance Leadership and program management experience Demonstrated ability to apply counselling/crisis support approaches to social health issues and needs Demonstrated ability to conceptualise, design, implement and review effective systems for clinical quality assurance Demonstrated experience in providing clinical guidance to staff using clinical guidelines and current evidence to inform clinical decision-making Demonstrated team building and leadership skills and the capacity to work effectively with a diverse range of people Well-developed project management skills and attention to detail The right to work unrestricted in Australia (evidence will be required) A current National Police Records check (or willing to apply for one) Working with Children Check (or willing to apply for one) Maintain AHPRA registration.
