And through exercising this choice, building cultural sensitivity and inclusiveness across the community while simultaneously promoting market competition between health care service providers; andUtilising its Aboriginal Medical Service and partnerships with primary healthcare and other specialised services, as a proactive strategy in delivering community wide "Closing the Gap" health status improvement initiativesOur Vision: To improve the health and wellbeing of our community through the provision of culturally safe, responsive and inclusive services.Purpose of the positionThis position is responsible for the overall management ensuring the delivery of efficient and effective comprehensive primary health care services in the Gympie clinic to clients, in line with the Model of Care. The scope of the position includes business planning, administration, financial oversight, leadership, and oversight of health service quality and safety to meet the key performance indicators and maximizing Medicare.Furthermore, manage staff operational issues; this includes, but not limited to; providing daily operational and cultural leadership including; operational performance and leadership within the program/s, access to Aboriginal and /or Torres Strait Islander cultural education and training, safety and quality, human resources, achieving the programs KPI's; and managing the program budget within the delegations of authority. Substantial experience in practice management or in a senior-level position within a comparable medical service, not for profit, government or private sector agency. Highly developed practice management expertise including being results focused, able to meet deadlines, and take a lead role to identify local health needs.Experience working with an appropriate clinical information system e.g., MMEX, Best Practice, Medical Director or other.Demonstrated ability to communicate, engage effectively and collaborate with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. This will include interpersonal skills that demonstrate a focus on client outcomes & patient-centred care.Extensive knowledge of Aboriginal culture, health and health disparities between Aboriginal and non-Indigenous population across Southeast Queensland Strong knowledge of, and experience in leading a team with contemporary management practices. This approach will enhance individual & organisational performance and accountability at all levels.Demonstrated ability to utilise appropriate data to inform a proactive approach to care including robust recall and reminder systems, identify clients and families at risk of or have a chronic condition.Work as an effective member of a multidisciplinary team, contributing proactively & positively to organisational objectives & outcomes.Self-motivated with proven experience to effectively manage own workload with limited supervision.High level computer skills – able to efficiently use a range of systems & programs with the ability to learn new processes & systems quickly. Ability to negotiate confidently and with influence and build beneficial working relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Strong connections to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities and stakeholders across the Sunshine Coast and Gympie regionsDemonstrated experience in project management showcasing skills including managing teams, maintaining budgets, adhering to schedules and activity plan requirementsKnowledge of the Australian health system and emerging directions in Aboriginal Health within health local, state and national strategies and approaches. Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander applicants are strongly encouraged to applyMandatory Qualifications / Professional Registrations and LicencesQualification in Health Management/ Practice Management or equivalent, combined with proven experience of at least two years as a Practice ManagerCurrent Suitability 'Blue Card' for working with children and young people, unless an exempt professionalCurrent First Aid & CPR CertificateSatisfactory Police Check (unless AHPRA registered)General Role RequirementsWork out of normal hours of duty, including some weekends, will be requiredTravel across the region will be required.Mandatory VaccinationsFull vaccination against COVID-19, including booster.
