Base salary of $81,957 to $112,288 plus allowances
The Indian Ocean Territories Administration (IOTA) is currently seeking motivated, professional and suitably qualified persons to join our team as a Practice Manager within the Indian Ocean Territories Health Service (IOTHS) based on Christmas Island.
The IOTHS delivers a primary and acute health care service in two of Australia's most remote and most spectacular settings - Christmas Island (CI) and the Cocos (Keeling) Islands (CKI). The IOTHS includes a 24 hour eight bed hospital and primary care facility on CI and clinics on Home and West Islands in the CKI. The IOTHS is committed to "Working with our communities to keep us healthy for the whole of our lives".
The key responsibilities of the Practice Manager are to manage and coordinate the General Practice and Visiting Specialist Services to ensure the delivery of advanced primary health care to patients and families. The role has direct supervision of the administration staff and works in collaboration with the medical practitioners to optimise the use of telehealth, specialist referrals and visiting specialist consultations. The role is also responsible for maintaining the general practice manual and quality portfolio associated with The Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (RACGP).
The successful candidate must be able to obtain a security clearance at Baseline Vetting Level (must be an Australian Citizen), hold a current class C Drivers Licence transferable to the Indian Ocean Territories, valid Western Australian Working with Children Check and be subject to a health assessment. 
The successful candidate will have demonstrable recent practice management experience, familiarity with The Royal Australian College of General Practice standards and knowledge and experience in the delivery of primary health care from an administrative perspective. 
Further, the successful candidate will have a demonstrated knowledge of, and commitment to, quality improvement, well-developed communication and analytical skills, familiarity with medical practice software and have highly developed skills in conflict resolution, negotiation and problem solving as well as the ability to manage and develop a high-performance team.
